Cadenze's story

Cadenze now enjoys the company of humans and is able to cope with all sorts of situations.

Cadenze's front foot on arrival

Cadenze's front feet, just 20 minutes after arrival.
Cadenze's owner had him broken in traditionally as a two-year-old, but was unable to handle him on the ground or ride him, as he would buck and bolt under saddle. Because the owner found him impossible to catch, Cadenze was turned out and not handled for three years, resulting in significant emotional and physical deterioration. No farrier had been able to even pick up his feet to trim them. The owner, having since had two other horses started at Whispering Acres, brought this young Arab, now five, to see what could be done. Within 20 minutes, Carlos had trimmed his feet and started to establish trust and understanding. In just a few weeks, it's easy to see how much confidence Cadenze has gained.
